New Kitchens

Have a look at our new Tetrix and Liberamente kitchens. These two new designs are extremely eclectic and are not limited to the kitchen space but could travel all throughout the house with the versitile cabinetry. Bal House

Great kitchens are part of great rooms. This one shows a true integration between kitchen and living and indoor and outdoor with some stunning contemporary architecture.

Just another angle on the great outdoor area.

From the kitchen you can see everything and therefore never miss out when preparing food for your guests.

Another angle showing off the kitchen area.

In the Scavolini range a great kitchen  that would suit this style would be the new LiberaMente or Tetrix. Also, loving the use of wood in this renovation in the USA by Terry & Terry architects. The materials they have used are so simple, yet create such a statement.

The Ivy

This is one of the outdoor bars at the Ivy, If you wanted to create this look in your home I would use the Mood model from Scavolini's range in crisp white with a 60mm Calacutta bench top. This would also translate well into a beautiful alfresco area.

Like this look-the Focus kitchen in absolute white with carrara bench top and stainless steel splash back, would achieve the look and feel of this beautiful space.
Walls of cross cut grey travertine and carrara bench tops again the Mood kitchen in Grey oak veneer would emmulate this look in your home.

Ambient design.

In our last visit to Sydney, we had The Ivy experience. What an amazing encounter. Located on George Street in the CBD, you are first lead down a small alley way filled with trendy and quirky shops, then come to the entrance of the complex. One of the unique things about your experience at the Ivy is that you are constantly exposed to funky and eclectic spaces and interiors, wherever it leads you. Some of the most beautiful and vibrant examples of interior design i have ever seen. So much thought and dedication has gone into the making of this wonderful place. After all the exploring, we eventually found ourselves dining at the Mad Cow, a 'New York' style grill restaurant with an inventive menu and refreshing and crisp cocktails. Probably the tastiest baby back Texas ribs that i have ever had, and don't let me forget about the caramelised hand-made vanilla slice with blackberries and almond praline, absolutely divine! Will never forget about this stunning venue, and am sure to visit there many times in the future to see how it has evolved! All i kept thinking about whilst we were walking around was-How can i get this look in my own home? There are many models in the Scavolini range that could achieve the look and feel of these well designed spaces.Scavolini has the most amazing marble bench tops in many thicknesses and numerous veneers and lacquered colours within the 40 or more models available.

New home

Over the last 12 months we have been completing our new home. It's only on 300 sqm but we've really packed in everything. We expect to take over the home and bring in all the finishing trades within the month. We have naturally chosen Scavolini kitchens to finish the home. We have gone for a combo in the Kitchen area which is on the second floor, we have chosen the kitchen from the Mood range for the majority of the units in matt grey oak, the upper units in Grey high gloss with curved cabinetry from the Flux range.I have chosen to integrate two electrolux fridges and complete the appliance list with the Smeg linea range. The bench tops are all arabesqato marble, with mirror splashbacks. I have toned the home throughout in tones of soft grey, through to slate grey and black. The laundry cabinets are a soft matt grey with inbuilt ironing board and slide out folding bench. Floors are a matt grey marble that has what looks like a muted wood grain running through it.This is throughout the home,as it is not large I thought it best to keep the finishes minimal and maintain a flow from floor to floor. We have continued to use Scavolini cabinets for hallway cupboards, linen cabinets and floating feature cabinetry. Bathrooms are again paying homage to Italian design and are all floating with seamlessly integrated bench tops and basins.I haven't seen any like these in Perth or even Australia. The ensuite has a large floating vanity with no handles that has been entirely constructed -including the drawer fronts in grey marble-it is stunning. Really looking forward to it all arriving and being installed. The remainder is being carpeted in a mouse grey. The rest will evolve, I rarely make my colour selections until just before the painter arrives, its the one thing you really need to get right, and you need to know how the home "feels" on lovely sunny days ,dull days, and particularly night. The kids do there own bedrooms ,both of them are very set on their own looks and preferences and have had this option in the many many homes that they have been dragged to and from through out their lives.Photos will follow shortly of the home in its present state and then I'll update you on our progress.Wish me luck!

Eurocucina and isaloni kitchen and giftware fairs.

Biannually Scavolini participates in the largest kitchen and furniture fair in the world in one of the most beautiful places in the world Milan. Eurocucina- the best of the best arrive to show off the latest and greatest in kitchen design and appliances. It's huge! Huge figuratively and huge in square metres.Normally to skim the surface it would take about 3 days.Scavolini have by far the largest stand with a restaurant within to entertain the dealers, and have meetings. They usually launch at least 3 new kitchens and make variations on present ones. Each kitchen is set as a room in a home and feature the latest in Italian design with rugs, furniture and lifestyle storage that enhances the living area. It's packed with photographers,TV cameras and Scavolini dealers. The rest of the time is spent wandering ,looking at what the world has to offer. You then move into the halls where the Salone del mobile furniture fair starts-WOW.I will be updating the blog as we get towards the time with some of the events that the fairs have to offer and from when we get there, tons of photos. Last time I saw Hugh Jackman there with his wife buying furniture, Karim Rashid, and Phillipe Starke. Can't wait to tell you all about it.This year is a big one for us ,I'll keep you updated about upcoming events and additions in the store as well.
